Young Frankenstein
This is one of the funniest movies of all time with an awesome cast. It was pretty hard for me to decide what scene would be...
Anchorman 2
High expectations for this. It is following up a cult favorite (it almost be like doing a sequel to Office Space) and that ain’t good usually. I can’t wait to see it…I think.
John Carter (snicker..)
Ok..this isn’t a comedy though..it was funny. Simply because it was ridiculous. Helium? who the hell goes to war over Helium? What…are they trying to create an entire society based on making your voice sound like Alvin & the Chipmunks? Ugh…awful.
Though I may need to see it again..if only for Lynn Collins. :P
21 Jump Street
Ok. I am a HUGE 21 Jump Street (the TV show) Fan. So imagine my..surprise…when I heard they were turning it into a comedy. I was mildly annoyed. And then I saw all these reviews. People were liking it. Hmmm..really? Ok..So I had to check it out. Surprisingly it was entertaining. Kind of funny..and of course I had to love the end (SPOILER ALERT!) when my boys from Jump Street (Depp & DeLuise..who is the brilliant mind behind another of my fave shows Stargate SG-1 and the spinoffs) made a cameo and so did Holly Robinson.
It’s worth checking out…pretty funny.
Click
Ho. Hum. Tried watching Click this afternoon…(I must be TRYING to torture myself..death by Sandler or something). I had to turn it off about half in (and I only stuck around THAT long because the always hot Kate Beckinsale is in it. Otherwise..I am trying to understand how that film got greenlit. Adam…call me if you need good ideas for comedies cause I hate seeing a fellow virgo bomb…
The Naked Gun
Now..THIS is what funny is. Leslie Nielsen was a comic genius. Incredible timing. I loved the tv show (Police Squad) even more. They should bring a comedy like that back to tv.
The Dilemma
Sorry. This has to be one of Vince Vaughn’s most boring flicks. I was so disappointed cause I usually like his stuff (Dodgeball is still one of my guilty pleasures), but this..ugh. It had possibilities too (They should have done more to make Winona’s character even crazier) but they tried too hard to make it some feel good flick and not a straight up headcase comedy. Boooo…hissss….
Jack and Jill
Ok..I’m not the biggest Adam Sandler fan (for some reason a lot of women love his movies? Why?? Seriously..why?) but being made to watch Jack and Jill tonight. I’m not counting on a lot of good things being said when I review it, but maybe it will pleasantly surprise me. I did like 50 First Dates..and his birthday is only a few days from mine (fellow virgo!) so I’ll give him some slack til I see it. Did you see it? What did you think??
Bridesmaids
Ok I think I need to see this and Wedding Crashers back to back and see which one I think is funnier. I am going to try and watch this again. I didn’t fully appreciate the film the first time. Might need to add this to the top 50 comedies, but not sure yet. Stay tuned.
Friday
Man..this is your “I ain’t got nutin to do, it’s saturday, I got pizza and beer and I’m going to sit and just laugh my ass off” kinda movie.
Chris Tucker & Ice Cube back in the day (with an all star cast and my boy Bernie Mac..RIP).
Awesome flick…
Trading Places
I haven’t seen this in a minute. This was when Eddie was king of comedy and at the height of his career. Loved this movie. So many great items in this film.”Quart of Blood Technique..” I may have to queue this one up again this week and watch it while I work.
